For purposes of federal immigration law, employees are required to provide documentary evidence of their identity and eligibility for employment in the United States. You may upload either:
- One document from List A; or
- One document from List B in combination with one document from List C
In certain cases, they can present an acceptable receipt for List A, B, or C documents. The validity of receipts varies by document so the employee must keep their employer updated on the status of the replacement document. An employer representative will need to review the original document upon receipt to update section 2 of the Form I-9.
